一、 The true meaning of "True Cultivation"(修道真修) : Cultivate one's heart, elevate one's nature, and then one can be truly benefited from Dharma.
二、 Cutl the huge snowball into pieces (Through enlightenment, 悟) Use wisdom to see through it, to analyze it, and the snowball will be cut into pieces.
三、 Four kinds of fear of the death
1. The fear of the disappearance of ego (People who don’t believe in soul.)
2. The unfamiliar place to go and the unknown situation to encounter
(People who don’t believe in religion may concern it mostly)
3. The fear to karma (Be afraid of seeing horrible spirits, people who believe in religion but still committed ill deeds will especially worry about it.)
4. The fear of great pain
(1) Physical pain: such as sickness, physical damage by disasters, body deformed by others, especially when the soul is departing from the body.
(2) Emotional pain: separation with one’s beloved body
四、 Melt the smaller snowball by daily cultivation (Through cultivation, 修)
1. Believe in eternal life and have a religious belief.
2. Do more good deeds and don’t commit any bad deeds.
3. Practice stability. (Without it, you may not pray three treasures to protect you when your karma comes and when you sick badly before your death)
4. Cultivate the sense of impermanence and the principle of cause, condition and effect.(修無常觀、因緣觀)
5. Have strong hear-to-heart communion with Heavenly Mater, our dear Teachers, and Buddha.
6. Reducing the enjoyment of sensual pleasures If the desire is stronger, the part of the body will be attached to the soul more serious, and it will take longer time to let the soul depart the body. If one is always craving for food, one’s tongue will suffer more when the soul is departing the body. As our textbook says, it is just like a turtle be stripped off its shell.
